Creamy macaroni and cheese casserole at home ...

The addition of cream cheese and sour cream transforms ordinary macaroni and cheese in a deliciously creamy casserole. To counter the sweet cottage cheese, cheddar is used also in this great macaroni and cheese recipe.

Makes 6 generous servings

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Cooking time: 35 minutes

Total time: 55 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces dry macaroni
  • 1 1/2 cup small curd cottage cheese
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, grated
  • Half a cup of sour cream
  • 2.1 cup of milk
  • A quarter cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Half of salt or to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 2.3 cup bread crumbs Clear
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Bring to boil a pot of water with salt and cook the pasta 1 minute less than the directions call for. Drain well and in the baking dish 9 x 12 inches
  2. Stir in cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, sour cream, milk, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. In a small bowl, combine bread crumbs and butter together. Sprinkle evenly over the top and bake for 35 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
