Sweet-Hot Thai Burgers Recipe

This recipe for sweet and spicy Thai-burger was $ 50,000 in 2007 Sutter create Best Burger Contest and Cook-Off Home the winner. It was created by Karen Bernard and has taken an Asian-inspired American classic burger.

Ingredients:

  • For the coriander mayonnaise
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • A quarter cup of chopped cilantro

  • For the garnish of Thai salad
  • A quarter cup of fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 4.3 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons chili sauce bottle fresh Thai
  • 1 tablespoon peeled and grated ginger
  • Half a cup of chopped fresh coriander
  • A quarter cup of chopped fresh basil
  • 1 English cucumber, cut into strips
  • 1 red pepper, julienned
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh bean sprouts
  • .
  • For cakes
  • 2 pounds fresh ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 4.3 cup bottle of sweet Thai chili sauce
  • 4 spring onions, sliced
  • 1 cup Spicy Thai Kettle Chips (or another chip from the land of spicy potato), placed in a bag and lightly crushed
  • 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil, for brushing on the grill
  • Hamburger buns 6 good quality potatoes divided,

Preparation:

Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill with a cover, or preheat a gas grill to medium-high.

To combine the mayonnaise, mayonnaise, lemon juice and coriander in a small bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside.

To make the salad, mix the lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, sweet chili sauce, ginger, coriander and basil in a small bowl. Mix the cucumber, peppers and bean sprouts in a large bowl. Toss to coat with dressing. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside.

To make the burgers, combine the chuck, salt, sweet chili sauce, onion and potato pieces in a large bowl, handling as little as possible. Forms in 6 patties to fit the buns. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside.

When the grill is ready, brush the grill rack with vegetable oil. Place patties on the grill, cover and cook, turning once, until preferably 5-7 minutes per side for medium doneness. Place rolls, cut down on the outer edges of the grill roast simmer in the last 2 minutes.

To assemble the burgers, a generous amount of coriander mayonnaise on pages roles. In the bottom of each pan, place a burger on the grill, followed by equal parts of the Thai salad, add the bread and serve.
