An old-fashioned, big style meatloaf recipe with southern pork and beef for very moist flavorful results. Molasses and ketchup glaze gives this meatloaf a nice shiny surface. Get this ready Buttermilk mashed potatoes!
Makes 8 servings, Old Fashion Southern Meatloaf

Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 rib of celery, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- Half cup finely chopped green onions (scallions)
- Third cup of milk
- Third cup ketchup
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 pound pork
- 2 eggs beaten,
- 1 cup bread crumbs Clear
- For the glaze:
- 1 tablespoon molasses dark
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large skillet, cook the onions, garlic, celery, green onions and butter over medium heat for about 5 minutes until the onions are soft. From take cooker, mix the salt, pepper, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and milk and allow to cool to room temperature.
- In a large bowl, combine meat, vegetables, eggs and bread crumbs. A Form of bread, 4 inches tall, and place in a baking dish. Mix molasses, brown sugar, tomato sauce in a small bowl and spread evenly over the meatloaf. Bake the meatloaf in the oven for 1 hour or until internal temperature reaches 170 degrees F.
